Andy has been working for NOLS since 1992 as a field instructor and since 2001 as a wilderness medicine instructor. He is known to state repetitively that “being a field instructor is the best job I have ever had… by far. The places you get to go, the things you get to do and the people you get to do them with have been some of the most rewarding experiences I have had.” Work and life responsibilities have reduced his field time but he still tries to get out once or twice a year. Andy is, currently, the assistant director of NOLS Rocky Mountain.
