Anne McGowan

Advancement Communications Coordinator

Anne McGowan

Anne hails from southcentral Pennsylvania, and spent weeks every summer of her childhood camping and hiking with her family. Always with her were a fishing pole fashioned from a bamboo cane, red Keds for hiking, her brother and sisters, and a few books for the car ride. College in the mountains of Pennsylvania centered around reading and writing, then a career in printing and publishing followed until she met a handsome NOLSie and moved across the country to his adopted home of Lander, Wyoming. There she spent years writing on deadline, shooting photos, and selling advertising for a community newspaper. That combination of skills and a desire for change led to the NOLS Advancement department, where she spends her days writing about the life changing effect a NOLS course has had on many, many alumni, and how a NOLS experience can happen for others. She is a proud NOLS Wind River Wilderness Prime grad.
