Brett got his start in outdoor education at UC Santa Cruz where he developed a whole-hearted love of both the Sierra Nevada and teaching groups in the outdoors. He has been teaching for NOLS since 2006 and NOLS Wilderness Medicine since 2010. The bulk of his field time is spent mountaineering on the glaciers of Alaska and Chilean Patagonia, although he still calls California (and the Sierra) home. Brett is currently a MPP Candidate at UC Berkeley where his focus is on clean energy systems and policy.
