Caio comes from Brazil, growing up on the beaches of Southeast Brazil and the Atlantic Rainforest. He has a Sports Science degree by the University of Sao Paulo and he is specialized in Sports Nutrition by the same university. He worked in the outdoors since 2006 as a kayak instructor and outdoor educator. He was a student in the Semester in the Amazon course and became faculty in 2012. He teaches backpacking, sea kayaking, and canoeing courses at multiple NOLS locations including Alaska, Adirondacks, Mexico, Patagonia, Rocky Mountain, and Scandinavia.
