Clair was an elementary school teacher in Virginia for eight years before she decided to go to Wyoming to work NOLS courses. She thought it was just going to be for a year but many years later, she is still working NOLS backpacking, canyon, winter, and climbing courses and loving every minute. When not in the field, she helps out around NOLS Rocky Mountain as a program supervisor and special projects coordinator. Some of Clair's favorite things are: avocados, furry dogs, UVA basketball, puffy pants, campfires, and singing in the backcountry.
