As a Colorado native, Devin grew up with a love for the mountains and wilderness. It was his dream to become a NOLS instructor ever since he was 16 years old. He was a student on a NOLS Semester in Kenya in 1998, quickly followed by an Outdoor Educator Course in Tanzania. After acquiring more experience working as an outdoor educator, Devin’s path led him back to NOLS for a Professional Instructor Course in 2005. Specializing in sea kayaking, backpacking, and winter ski courses, Devin is still living the dream and traveling the world as a NOLS instructor.
With a degree in Ski Business from Colorado Mountain College, Devin has traveled to every continent and filled up two passports, currently working on his third. He’s a PADI dive-master, worked on a commercial fishing boat in the Bering Sea of Alaska, and for the National Science Foundation in Antarctica. However, Devin has always found being a NOLS instructor to be the most rewarding job.
