Ethan Meers has been a part of the NOLS community for more than 20 years. He is a former instructor who worked courses out of the Rocky Mountain and Teton Valley campuses. He is also a graduate of an Adventure Course, a Semester in the Rockies, and an Instructor Course. Most recently, Ethan served as the co-chair of the NOLS Advisory Council.
Ethan is a principal at Kinship Capital, a private real estate investment firm. Kinship Capital makes growth-oriented and duration-driven investments in the U.S. across a variety of product types including office, retail, multifamily, hospitality, and industrial real estate. He is responsible for building and managing Kinship’s multifaceted real estate portfolio, structuring partnerships and capital structures, and formulating real estate investment strategies. Previously, Ethan worked in acquisitions at the Related Companies, a highly diversified real estate firm with expertise in virtually every aspect of development, acquisitions, management, finance, and sales. He began his career with Telesis Corporation, a Washington, D.C.- based company that plans, finances, and builds affordable urban communities.
Ethan holds a B.A. in History and American Studies from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, where he also collaborates and mentors as a returning alumni in the classroom.
In addition to his involvement with NOLS, Ethan serves as a Trustee of the Nature Conservancy in Illinois.
