Ethan Schmertzler is the CEO and a co-founder of Dispel, a U.S. cybersecurity firm providing industrial zero trust access for manufacturers, utilities, and governments.
Ethan has been actively involved in the cybersecurity sector since 2014. In addition to his role at Dispel, he currently serves as an industrial advisor to NATO, an SCC member to the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, and as a director of the National Defense Industrial Association.
He currently sits on the Phillips Academy Addison Artist Council, where he was previously a member of the school’s Alumni Council Executive Committee.
Ethan is a NOLS Himalaya Backpacking Alumni and has been a NOLS Wilderness EMT since 2007. In addition, he was part of alumni sailing courses in the British Virgin Islands and Croatia; sea kayaking in Patagonia; and hiking in Italy.
He is an avid cyclist, skier, cook, and photographer; practices Krav Maga; and a General-licensed ham radio operator. Ethan received a B.A. from Middlebury College in Psychology, History, and Japanese.
