Originally from Kentucky, Jared moved to Lander, Wyoming in 2011 to be closer to mountains, snow, and wild places. He has held numerous jobs at NOLS over the years and is currently a full-time field instructor, focusing on backpacking and climbing. Shortly after moving to Lander, he started working with Search and Rescue, which ignited his love for wilderness medicine and extended patient care in remote environments. He earned his WEMT certification in 2012 and completed his NOLS Wilderness Medicine instructor training course in 2015. When not working for NOLS, Jared can be found pursuing clean rock, deep snow, flowy single-track, and beautiful locations to make photos.
