Taylor has been passionate about and professionally involved with education in various capacities for at least a decade. When she is not teaching wilderness medicine (or other subjects), Taylor is dedicated to volunteer service, such as providing direct medical support in solidarity with marginalized communities and movements for social justice. Originally from Los Angeles, CA, she now resides at a collectively owned housing cooperative in Portland, OR that she helped start. In her abundant spare time she enjoys music, reading, building stuff with power tools, playing outside, gardening, riding/fixing bicycles, foraging for fashionable/edible treasure, studying plant medicine, getting dressed up, trying new things, and generally seeking adventure. She hopes to one day become a drummer in a band and co-founder of a neighborhood Food Not Bombs chapter, multi-use community warehouse space, and free clinic.
