JK is a Managing Director at Ithaka Partners LLC, a private equity firm based in Florida. Additionally, JK is on the Advisory Council of the National Outdoor Leadership School and the National Council of the National Park Foundation. His philanthropic interests focus on organizations that work to preserve a deep connection to the natural world and to develop the full potential of youth and young adults.

JK lived in Sweden and Denmark as a child and was blessed to spend the summers of his youth attending rustic camps in North Carolina and Colorado. It was these experiences that ignited his love of Big Nature. This passion was later cemented on a NOLS experience in the Cascades of Washington State in 1986 (led by instructor Drannon Hanby) and many self-led experiences since.

JK has three grown children: Katherine, Anna, and Matt. His primary interests outside of work are his family and children, photography and art, hiking, mountain biking, kitesurfing, alpine skiing, and things creative and adventurous in many forms. He currently lives in Cambridge, MA and Park City, UT.
