Julie Brown

Julie Brown has been working with NOLS since 2002. As a NOLS Senior level field instructor she has worked in Alaska, Mexico, Wyoming, and Washington leading sea kayaking, backpacking, and mountaineering courses. She loves instructing students on NOLS semesters for 65 days or longer! Many know Julie for her dancing role on NOLS videos as the “NOLS Alaska backward dancing equipment model!” Julie started teaching for NOLS Wilderness Medicine in 2006, and is passionate about teaching wilderness medicine because she can teach first aid skills in a fun and hands-on style that empowers outdoor enthusiasts. In addition to her work with NOLS, Julie is the full-time Outdoor Recreation Coordinator for Denver, Colorado and Manager of the Genesee Challenge Course.
