Kyle is a NOLS alum who completed the Wind River Rock Climbing course and Denali Mountaineering Expedition course. Kyle Barnett is the Chief Operating Officer, U.S. Personal and Business Banking for the Bank of Montreal. Kyle has over 20 years of experience with strategic planning, motivating teams, and leading change.
In his current role Kyle creates alignment and integrates execution of strategy across the US business to achieve performance targets and business growth. Previous to this role, Kyle was the Head of North American Physical Channels and US Head of Channels where he led long-term physical channel strategic planning and day to day run support for the distribution network, branch real estate, and ATMs. This strategic change leadership enabled network modernization and digitization of the customer experience. In previous roles, Kyle has led large customer facing teams, designed strategy, and built performance operating models to drive growth and productivity.
Kyle holds a B.A. from Swarthmore College and earned his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He is on the Board of the Metropolitan Planning Council of Chicago, the Chicago Advisory Board for the Trust for Public Land, and the Advisory Board for NOLS. He enjoys nature travel, endurance sports, and CrossFit. Kyle resides in Wilmette, IL with his wife, Kate Attea, and their 4 children.
