Hailing from Central Oregon, Sarah can often be found enjoying the recreational opportunities around her home of Bend, Oregon. Sarah studied Environmental Science and Biology at the University of Oregon, where she was an AmeriCorps volunteer in outdoor education. She worked for the Forest Service for many years, several of which were spent as a firefighter on a hotshot crew. There she worked as a Wilderness EMT, gaining medical experience and developing an interest in teaching outdoor skills and wilderness medicine. Sarah became a NOLS Field Instructor in 2011 and a WMI Instructor in 2012 and loves helping others through medicine and education. When not working, she loves to travel, mountain bike, climb, trail run, and is currently learning to fly-fish.
