Stasi grew up exploring Southern woods, rivers, and coastlines. She began guiding canoe trips as a Girl Scout, and spent several years leading whitewater trips before focusing on taking city kids outside. She has earned a BA in Journalism and a Masters of Teaching. A compulsive educator, she has taught outdoor and environmental education, swiftwater rescue, home brewing, British literature, and childbirth. Now based in Boulder, CO, she enjoys snowboarding, biking, whitewater, and playing bluegrass. She spends her time exploring with (and honing her rescue skills on) her husband Jeff, her kids Ellis and Maggie, and mentoring the next generation of outdoorswomen.
