Tim has been working as an outdoor guide, educator, and instructor since the 80's in the US and abroad. A native of Colorado, he currently calls Durango, CO home, where he can be found boating, skiing or adventuring in the nearby mountains and deserts. In addition to teaching NOLS Wilderness Medicine courses, Tim also works on expedition ships in the Antarctic Peninsula as a naturalist and guide. Along with his many years in the field teaching and instructing, Tim is also an avid outdoor adventurer and traveler. Spending the turn of the millennia at the South Pole and summiting Mt. McKinley in Alaska are among his favorite achievements. Tim has numerous guiding certifications and licenses, spent 20 years teaching experiential education at Fort Lewis College in Durango, and holds a Bachelor's degree in Japanese Language and Literature from the University of Colorado.
