Tomas is a third-generation music publisher and the Chief Executive Officer of Music Sale Corp./G Schirmer/AMP. He attended Tufts University and Harvard Business School and was made CEO of Music Sales Corp./G Schirmer/AMP in 2010. He now oversees all North American operations.
The Music Sales Group is an international family of companies that comprises one of the world’s largest independent music publishing organizations with offices in 12 countries and over 400 employees worldwide.
It is a major popular music rights holder and owns a catalog of more than 250,000 songs that includes such varied titles as ‘The Twist’, ‘Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend’, ‘S.O.S’, ‘Tainted Love’, ‘Take the “A” Train’, ‘Wooly Bully’, ‘Buffalo Soldier’, ‘The Tide is High’, ‘Southern Cross’, ‘Try a Little Tenderness’, ‘My Sharona’, and ‘Lay Down Sally’, among many others.
It is also the parent company of G. Schirmer—one of the world’s most respected classical music publishing houses, and MusicFirst—the world’s first and largest cloud-based service for music educators.
Tomas is a two-time NOLS graduate; having completed the Wind River Wilderness Course in 1987 and the 2013 Lightweight Hiking Course. He is an avid skier and hiker and loves to fly fish.
