Antipodean to start, northern resident by choice. Tyson has been involved in outdoor education since Y2K ...tricked... him into leaving a distinguished military career. From then Tyson removed himself to the backcountry as an avid student of all modes of travel in all seasons. Tyson was drawn to wilderness medicine after being inspired by the education model (along with the smell of whiteboard markers) and has taught with NOLS Wilderness Medicine internationally since 2005. Currently filling a clinical role as a critical care flight medic within the Albertan Provincial Air Ambulance Program, Tyson teaches for NOLS Wilderness Medicine sporadically yet enthusiastically.
